착해
it's about to get REAL korean right now.
this word: "chah-keh" is a commonly used word to
describe a lot of different things. you can
use it for.. "responsible, good hearted, innocent,
wholesome, naive..." the list can go on, but
most girls try to be 착해 especially when it
comes to parents, parents in law and work.
if you google it in translation, it says
kind.. well mannered.. whatever
nonetheless, its typically a good compliment
if an elderly/grown up calls you this.
on the first of the new year, it's tradition
to go to your parents house and give them
warm "in sahs" (greetings) and do traditional "sehbeh"
sehbeh is where you get money as good
luck for the new year from your elders. i guess it's
parallel to chinese new year but its not as
intense. them chinese get cray cray during
the chinese new year!
anyway, ryan and i started the year off right
with a morning church session and went directly
to his parents house, and then to mine
shortly after. i wore an outfit that i think
perfect describes chakeh+fashion forward.
grey tank- ACTIVE (gift! woot)
cable knit sweater- GAP
double layered silk midi skirt-WILT
shoes- GLAZE from a'gaci (gift! woot)
i also wore my new earrings rye got me for christmas.
he's such a dear. we always walk to the newmart/cooper building
when they're sample sales.. and he remembered
this show room that carried beautiful jewelry
like native gem and sheila fajil.
he got me 2 semi precious stoned rings and these pair
of earrings. LOVE! i will post the rings
soon but here are the earrings.
they really aren't something
i would typically choose but they're unique and
classic. my little ears are happy when they're on.
:)
happy hump day
