as much as rye and i bicker, i love him.
i'm so excited to grocery shop with him tonight. wtf is wrong with me?
anyways, my mom is going to china and korea tomorrow for three weeks.
so freaking long! i've been a busy bee learning all the
tasks i will be handling while she's away. also,
she is going to miss mother's day for the first time since rye and i got married
so we decided to throw her a little mother's day brunch before she left.
i woke up at 5:30 and made a spread.
scrambled eggs with garlic and parsley
turkey sausage with mushrooms and sauteed kale
grilled asparagus with lemon, garlic and EVOO
freshly baked garlic onion bread
bacon and soy bacon.
i picked up some fresh flowers (ranunculus and kale for most of them)
and added them for some color on the table. we had the
brunch at work since we are so so busy and i really enjoyed
the time we had with my mom on her last day here before her trip.
i also brought infused mint milk and
homemade OJ (with a hint of pineapple juice)
i love the jars i used that i got from heath but you can get them
from crate and barrel too! they are cheap, chic and great for
sauces, juices that you can store at home. the brand
is WECK and they come in all different shapes and sizes.
i also made my own version of a coffee mint mojito
(inspired by PHILZ!)
happy mothers day mom. you rool.
