hangin on to summer by a thread

so the first day of fall was last week (21st i think) and the cold mornings have already begun in LA. the only bad thing about it is by time lunchtime is here, you're in 80 degree weather. it really is the definition of LA's fall weather cause we really don't have a fall but I guess this is what it really is. I always have a torn heart about summer and fall because i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE summertime. Summer time means SHORT SHORTS, TANK TOPS, POOL PARTIES, ICE CREAM FOR BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER, WARM SUMMER NIGHTS, BEACH BBQS, TAN LINES, DID I MENTION POOL PARTIES ?? then i think about fall. beautiful camel coats, tights in all colors and patterns, thigh high knee high everything high socks and boots, i love it all. scarfs, beanies and gloves. fall weather is such an amazing opportunity to show your fashion sense as you can do so much with what is offered. summer.. u just wear the smallest cutest thing you can find and hope u look appropriate for work.

anyway, i wore an outfit today that really expresses my love/hate relationship with summer and fall. i guess i'm kind of trying to take advantage of any kind of summer since its the one who's leaving and fall is the one who's here for a while. i got these cool wrangler cut offs as a present from an cute vintage shop owner in little tokyo. his store is KIMSKI and they always have the BEST levi/wrangler cut offs and cute little gifts and accessories you would never find anywhere else. if you haven't been, i suggest you do because you won't find another store like it! but i digress. i'm wearing a c&c longsleeve (it was cold!) with my vintage braided belt and my crazy purple wrangler cutoffs. i'm also wearing my steve madden booties i've been wearing for far too long but can't seem to part with. enjoy!

this post is stolen from my instagram iphone page. tonight i made homemade dokkbogi with a little left over al from the albap night. i don't know if i posted, but i made home made albap last week and had some left over ingredients. drinking some makolee and soju and we're gonna watch a movie and head to bed. enjoy foody pics!

my first time really trying to make al bap last night for dinner. in the rice, i added a little soy sauce and sesame oil to blend with the egg. it was good but i think it was missing something. i also substituted the quail egg with a regular egg since i didn't have the time to shop for quail eggs. it was ryan's first time trying it in general and i wish he didnt have a spoon full of just the al (salmon roe, caviar) to make his experience better than salty.

braceface.

i've reached my 6month mark for my braces. unfortunately, today was my tightening day and boy, do they HURT. the only plus from my metal mouth is that i've actually lost about 10 lbs. i don't want to say that its just because of my braces, but it does have to do with the fact that i'm easing off hard candy and chips (my favorite).

anyway i was playing with some apps while waiting for my dad to get out of a meeting in LA after my dentist appointment.

sucking at this blogging thing.. royally.

happy tuesday. so i've been having quite the jolly time with my new i phone and to make up for my lack of posting/pictures etc, i've decided to post some groooooovy pictures from my new phone. don't judge the first one*, it was a tester. (i only say this because i absolutely HATE girls who take pictures of themselves in cars, bars, clubs etc and post them all over their facebook etc thinking they're really cute)

slowly but surely

as i recover from this flu/cold or whatever this horrible sickness is, i begin to realize that the time is ticking to fulfill the list of things i want to accomplish by the time i'm thirty. i think a lot of things obviously have to do with financial security and what not but a lot are also personal goals that i hope to say ive accomplished in the next handful of years. here is my list so far

1- have a mortgage to pay, not a monthly lease payment (aka own my own shiz)
2- travel.
-MIAMI
-CANADA (MONTREAL, QB)
-BOSTON
-CHICAGO
-HAWAII
-ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE ESPECIALLY IN THE US FIRST!!
3- have my own business. (this is a whole other post i need to start about)
4-know or have an idea of who i want to marry/be with for the rest of my life.
5-let my wonderful parents retire so they can live a happy life where they bike and go on rad vacations together.


i know these 5 things seem short but i guess i should keep it short and sweet because although i have 5 years to complete these things... i mean let's face it. these are pretty big and vague things to work on. so here's to the future. *this is my fake shot i'm toasting which is actually a shot of nyquil because i'm about to go to sleep.

anyway i was ranting along about how most people are probably laying out and having fun today since its a three day weekend but here i am bloggin about my goals and focuses of the week.

first of all i need to get back into shape and eat healthier. i've gained 4 lbs in the last week due to laziness and eating lots of bad foods (aka CHOCOLATE!!). i need to get back and lose 10 more lbs :D

cooking more at home also is an advantage (yes, i've started to call ryan's loft HOME.. DEAL WITH IT)

going to go downstairs and work out. lunch with ryan's family at 3 and dinner with hannah onie , brian hyung, jay and mindy later tonight.

woooop. today i made honey french toast (thanks alton brown for the recipe xo) with faux italian sausage on the side. rye isn't feeling very well (he thinks he's catching a cold) so i made him drink a lot of OJ and is now passed out on B12 i drugged him with. i'm off to running my fatass downstairs now.

what a major fail in not blogging the majority of this week. to be honest, its due to the lack of memory in my brain so at least its not negligence.
